Watch out, Warnie!

cricket-13925417_1250059101719527_8395914511899231150_nI love my cricket so was thrilled to be asked to be Patron and Number 1 supporter for the venerable Williamstown Congs Cricket Club for the 2016/17 season.

President Gary Griffin recently presented me with club colours, emblazoned with the spectacular Congs logo, at the Willy RSL.

Gary Griffin said:

“Our club is proud to welcome Angela Altair, a well-known Williamstowner, who is, and has been active in many community projects and local events.
The combined efforts of Angela, the committee, and all players will help build our club into a modern, vibrant and inclusive sporting group, and with our new Turf wicket, new Pavilion in the works, and the addition of a Women’s team this season, the future looks bright and exciting.”
Jenny Bates, a former cricketer, who’s in charge of the juniors and is also the women’s team coordinator, is recruiting females of all ages for a new women’s team. I’ve agreed to umpire after suitable training (I reckon I’m in the Billy Bowden mould!) and would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved — in any capacity.
